Here are the main duties expected of the Nursery Room Leader. Please note that this description is a basic outline of the expected duties and that other additional duties may be requested from time to time.
To know and understand all Nursery policies.
To know and understand all Nursery prices.
To know and understand all EYFS Statutory Framework
and Montessori Practice
To be punctual and willing to do overtime when required
To be well presented at all times
To work as part of a team
To use initiative
To devise a settling in format for all new parents/children
To liaise closely with the manager in implementing all Nursery Policies
To devise a room timetable after discussion with the Manager implementing all key areas of the EYFS and implement Montessori practice in the rooms
To report to the manager weekly on all activities illustrating how topics have been incorporated into activities and how key areas such as music are covered
To liaise closely with parents and update them daily on their child’s progress
To organize regular updating of daily diaries by all staff members
To organize staff into routines of nappy changing
To introduce all new staff members into the room’s routine and procedures and train them to implement Montessori practice
To ensure that ratios are adhered to at all times
To oversee cleaning rotas and ensure the room is clean and tidy at all times
To keep regular development records on each child as per the manager’s format
To support the manager in her daily role.
To make sure the planning and observations are done every week in the room
To ensure that all the children’s portfolios are up to date.
To ensure that displayed are up to date and changed regularly
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Required Education, Skills & Qualifications:
Childcare: 3 years Nursery Experience
NVQ Level 3 Childcare Certification
Full understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures
Outstanding training including a personal development plan
